We are excited for you to join us for our 4th annual Peninsula Papagayo Invitational with former World #1 and Peninsula Papagayo brand ambassador, Ernie Els.

All proceeds from this year’s tournament will benefit Creciendo Juntos and the Guanacaste Dry Forest Conservation Fund. Creciendo Juntos will receive the first $75,000 to complete its new community technology hub and support advanced education in the surrounding communities. Guanacaste Dry Forest Conservation Fund will receive the remainder of this year’s proceeds, earmarked for Costa Rica’s lauded BioAlfa project to promote bioliteracy. The 18-hole foursome event is open to members and invited guests. Participation is open to amateurs, and the field is limited to the first 20 paid teams. Singles and twosomes will be paired with other golfers.

The weekend will include a clinic with Ernie Els, a glow-in-the-dark closest-to-the-pin contest, a welcome cocktail event, a gala and a silent auction. The silent auction will feature stays at Four Seasons Hotels Mexico City, Madrid, Denver, Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya, Andaz Maui At Wailea Resort, Park Hyatt St. Kitts and more.

Tournament Format

• All the golfers within the team hit a drive off the tee and the best-positioned drive will be used for the second shot.
• All players hit their second shots from the position of the selected drive, and then play their subsequent shots from where their golf balls end up until they have completed the hole.
• All penalty areas will be played as lateral, rather than through the green for pace of play.

Scoring the Event

• Players will receive 50% of their handicap, which will be indicated on the scorecard.
• The maximum handicap for this event is 36.
• Only one net score will be used per hole.
• One drive from each player must be used and noted on the scorecard during the round.

Cost

$1,200 per person by way of donation, payable through a qualified U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Price includes all green fees and cart fees, cocktail reception on Friday evening, breakfast before the tournament on Saturday, as well as the prize presentation and gala dinner on Friday evening for player and spouse/significant other.
