An Audubon Signature Sanctuary

Eco Golf, Reimagined

It is often said that golf is 25 percent skill and 75 percent mental. Nowhere is that more evident than here.

With panoramic ocean views on 14 holes, encounters with white-faced monkeys in the treetops, and more than 100 species of birds calling Papagayo home, each round is played within a living ecosystem. The Ocean Course is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, recognized for its leadership in conservation and environmental protection.

Every hole is thoughtfully integrated into the land, offering golfers the rare opportunity to experience world-class design in harmony with nature—where the rhythm of the game unfolds alongside Papagayo’s remarkable biodiversity.

Practice Facility

Practice Makes Perfect

The Ocean Course practice facilities are designed to match the caliber of the course itself.

Featuring a full driving range and multiple short-game practice areas overlooking the Nacascolo Preserve, golfers have access to a comprehensive environment for warm-up, refinement, or focused improvement.

Whether you are new to the game or a seasoned player, PGA professionals are available to offer personalized instruction, private lessons, and clinics—helping you sharpen every aspect of your play in an extraordinary setting.

Golf Clubhouse

ODE TO A CONCH SHELL

Each round begins and ends at Peninsula Papagayo’s iconic golf clubhouse, perched above sweeping views of Culebra Bay.

Inspired by the form of a conch shell and originally designed by architect Ronald Zürcher, the clubhouse has been thoughtfully reimagined under the management of Four Seasons. The 28,000-square-foot facility includes the private member lounge, Nemare Latin Steakhouse, the golf shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and administrative offices—creating a refined social and gathering space that reflects the spirit of Papagayo.

Golf Shop

Rentals, Apparel and Accessories

The Golf Shop offers a carefully curated selection of premium apparel, equipment, and accessories from leading golf and lifestyle brands.

Everything needed for a day on the course is available, including club rentals, footwear, performance apparel, and signature Papagayo merchandise. The shop is open daily, offering attentive, personalized service.

We were honored to have been chosen to design the first golf course at Peninsula Papagayo. We were given an excellent piece of property, a lush tropical landscape, exciting elevation changes, and 360-degree ocean views on many holes. The course is not only beautiful but also a fair test of golf.
