Creciendo Juntos

A new chapter in Costa Rica’s education journey is building on a program that began close to home. In 2018, following early conversations that started the year before, Creciendo Juntos, together with Mohari Hospitality, introduced ABCMouse® to 15 schools in Peninsula Papagayo’s area of influence, training 13 English teachers and integrating the platform’s content into the classroom curriculum.

Later that year, after a visit to Los Angeles for Age of Learning’s annual event, the opportunity to scale the program nationally began to take shape. Creciendo Juntos helped facilitate the connection with the Ministry of Public Education, opening the door for a broader alliance focused on strengthening learning outcomes for students across Costa Rica.

From 2019 to 2023, the regional pilot continued to grow through teacher training, usage data management, and student progress reporting. During this period, MEP and Creciendo Juntos advanced the methodological design, assessed connectivity conditions, led regional sensitization efforts, and conducted diagnostic evaluations, laying the foundation for national expansion of ABCMouse Aprende Inglés and My Math Academy®.

Today, that early vision has evolved into the national Aceleradores del Aprendizaje initiative, an alliance between Age of Learning, the Ministry of Public Education, Creciendo Juntos, and Mohari Hospitality. More than 60,000 students across more than 900 public schools in all 27 academic regions of Costa Rica will now have free access to learning platforms that support English, reading, and math, including ABCMouse, Aprende Inglés, My Math Academy, My Reading Academy, and My Reading Academy Español.

For Creciendo Juntos and Mohari Hospitality, the initiative reflects a long-term commitment to expanding opportunity through education. What started in 15 local schools has become a nationwide effort to help thousands of children build skills, confidence, and brighter futures.
