GSTC manages global standards for sustainable travel and tourism and acts as the international accreditation body for sustainable tourism certification. As a new member of GSTC, Peninsula Papagayo has committed to using all tools at its disposal to reduce the negative impacts of building construction and operations.

“We are striving to meet and exceed the rigorous GSTC Criteria,” Susana says. These internationally recognized standards lay down the foundational principles and indispensable benchmarks that any tourism business or destination should aspire to, ensuring the protection and preservation of our planet’s invaluable natural and cultural resources.

Susana recently brought together stakeholders from across the peninsula to begin measuring all emissions for the first time. This data is providing visibility into the full scope of PPGY’s environmental footprint and enabling meaningful action plans to reduce emissions. Learn more.
