What goals do you wish to accomplish as Head of Sustainability?

Susana: “I hope to bring sustainability closer to the community and its assets, and make residents, guests and teams the core of the strategy. They play an essential role in taking care of the environment, respecting the peninsula´s biodiversity and preserving Guanacaste´s culture.”

“From day one, I will endeavor to actively listen, get involved and work with all stakeholders to develop projects that incorporate their objectives and priorities, and take their concerns and challenges into account.”

What achievements are you most proud of?

Susana: “I have a predisposition to supporting animal welfare. At the NGO I worked for, we were able to secure negotiations that affected the well-being of millions of caged chickens, which led to a major step forward in the cage-free revolution.”

What do you enjoy most about your career?

Susana: “It is fulfilling to know that my work ends up having a positive effect in the world. The fact that I have worked in philanthropy and specialized in sustainability allows me to make a positive impact on the environment and on society.”
