To achieve a high-quality signal, Peninsula Papagayo is partnering with Phoenix Towers International (PRI), a company that has extended service providing signal to communities like Peninsula Papagayo. A stronger, more consistent signal will be welcomed by residents and guests, and allow for easier communication across the property. The project will comply with local sustainability guidelines and be completed in Spring 2022. PTI has innovated a new technology that can camouflage a steel structure antenna as a palm. These smaller palms fit well into the height requirement of 14 meters, the average height of a tree. Read the News Article

Exciting Renovations to the Clubhouse at Ocean Course

​​With residents now opting to visit for more extended periods, enhancements to the Clubhhouse at Ocean Course will offer more places to build community. New pickleball courts, a new pet-friendly Tap House with foosball and darts, and revitalized tennis court provide more activities for residents and guests to share. A new Welcome Center also features local artwork and Chorotega indigenous design elements contribute to an attractive, hospitable décor. The 2022 Peninsula Papagayo Invitational

The third annual Peninsula Papagayo Invitational is taking place on January 13th & 14th, 2022 with former World #1 and Peninsula Papagayo brand ambassador, Ernie Els, joining us for one final year. The Invitational tournament is a popular event that fundraises for Creciendo Juntos. The past two events raised over $150,000 for Guardia High School, enabling them to do a tremendous amount of improvements. This year, entry fees will help fund a technology hub for students in the Guanacaste region. Read More

La Paz Community School – Tempisque, the second campus of the internationally acclaimed La Paz Community School, recently opened for classes. Located just 10 minutes away, the school attracts children of both homeowners and employees of the resort. The dual immersion and International Baccalaureate school meets the desire for a high-quality school near Peninsula Papagayo. The school will offer grades Pre-K through 9 and add another year to the high school every year, with the first graduating class completing their studies in 2025. Read More

Coral Mania 2021

Two years ago, in September 2019, Peninsula Papagayo launched the coral restoration initiative. Spearheaded by Miguel Sánchez, General Manager of Papagayo Explorers, the coral restoration initiative aims to build awareness of coral degradation worldwide, and to recuperate the lost coral beds in Bahía Culebra. Throughout the year, members and guests of the peninsula are invited to participate by joining the Papagayo Explorers for a dive down to explore and clean the coral nurseries just offshore. Now, for the first time since embarking on this initiative, Peninsula Papagayo will be participating in Coral Mania – an annual, worldwide event to harvest corals from nurseries and outplant them in nearby reefs where the coral structure has collapsed.
