The importance of Karlstejn
Karlstejn Castle owes its name to Charles the 4th, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, king of Germany and Bohemia, the Charles bridge, built also during his reign, is named in honor of his name too. Well, the lock was built as a summer residence of Charles and as a place of storage of Czech Royal regalia and Holy relics that the King loved to collect. Apparently for the preservation of these rarities the 72-meter rock was chosen towering over the surrounding area. It really looks majestic and inaccessible for the possible storm. This Czech lock will remain the most memorable for anyone and we are sure that you will not regret visiting it.
The unique architecture
The architectural ensemble of the Karlstejn Castle, built by the best masters of the yard, is the stepped buildings. The whole complex is divided into two parts: the Upper and Lower Castles. The Upper part includes a Large tower, the Imperial Palace, the Mariana tower. At the Lower part there are a courtyard, the Burgraff Building, access gates and Wells Tower whose depth is around 80 meters. Believe us, it is worth visiting.

The castle is located about 30 kilometers from Prague, on the top of a mountain and inspires everyone with its architecture and appearance. The town at the foot of the Karlstejn is full of souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and other establishments for tourists. The city of Karlstejn was formed relatively recently - in 1952, as a result of the merger of two towns, and the name owes its course to the lock that was built already in the 14th century.
